Welcome to Pearls of Quran ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all our participants, especially young learners, teenagers, and their families. This Privacy Policy details the exact types of data we collect, why we collect it, how it is processed and secured, and how you can exercise full control over your information, including your right to review or permanently delete your account.

This Privacy Policy governs the Pearls of Quran Android mobile application (Package ID: com.flowersofquran.app) distributed via the Google Play Store, along with our connected educational web services located at pearlsofquran.com. The platform offers interactive Quran-based educational quizzes, reading materials, pearl/reward tracking, and digital completion certificates for students.

We believe in strict data minimization. We only collect the minimal personal data necessary to provide app authentication, maintain your educational quiz progress, and issue customized completion certificates.

To ensure maximum safety for families and children:

  • We DO NOT collect precise GPS location data.
  • We DO NOT access contacts, phonebooks, SMS history, or local storage files.
  • We DO NOT collect financial, credit card, or payment information (our learning quizzes are 100% free).
  • We DO NOT collect biometric identifiers or track browsing behavior outside our app.

Because Pearls of Quran is tailored for children, youth, and families, we adhere strictly to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Google Play Families Policy:

  • Children and youth use our application under the direct guidance, consent, and supervision of their parent or legal guardian.
  • Account registration requires parental/guardian involvement, including the parent's name and authorized phone number.
  • We do not condition a child's participation in any quiz or learning activity on disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
  • Parental Rights: Any parent or legal guardian can at any time inspect the data collected regarding their child, refuse further data processing, or request the immediate permanent deletion of their child's account and records by contacting us at ask@characterbee.com or via our Account Deletion Page.

5. Data Retention Policy

We retain personal information and learning progress only for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide our educational service. If you choose to delete your account, all associated credentials, profile records, and learning histories will be permanently removed from our active databases within 30 calendar days of receiving your verified request.

6. How to Delete Your Account and Data

In full accordance with Google Play's Account Deletion Policy, we provide multiple easy ways for you to permanently delete your account and all associated data:

  1. Inside the Android App: Open the Pearls of Quran app, open the top navigation menu (☰), tap Delete Account, and confirm your request.
  2. Via the Public Web Deletion Resource: If you have uninstalled the application or prefer web submission, visit our dedicated Account Deletion Page. You can submit your deletion request directly without having to reinstall the app.
  3. Via Email Request: Send an email to ask@characterbee.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request", including your registered phone number and participant name.

Our educational services are accessed by participants globally. If you use our service from outside the jurisdiction where our cloud servers are located, your information may be processed and stored in servers managed by our cloud infrastructure provider (Supabase) in compliance with recognized international data transfer frameworks.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements in our app functionality, legal obligations, or Google Play policy updates. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the service following the posting of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
